When we participate we aught to offend some one, specially when both parties or on of them is new in the arena of freedom of expression, it is quit common  that people with powerful positions making major gaffes, because they aren't used to control there verbal impulse like us the not so fortunate people.  

Not all human have the same type of humour, so when we crake a joke related to religion or race and particularly when there are bigots in the receiving end of the jock there is some one waiting to catch an excuse for an issue , we risk a backlash and I feel that to some degree, you where aware of this but under estimated the magnitude of the reaction. 

Since the month of Ramadan is Upon us, I recommend a dignified participation or non-financial contribution with an event that can show a goodwill form your side but in a properly and gracious way, for example: maybe a nice religious segment on your satellite ONTV, also I truly believe that you stop talking about if and apologizing, some other controversy will grab the attention of your adversaries and it will blow over and forgotten, my friend keep in mind they are  thrilled with there new  abilities to argue and object without punishment and exited for having the privilege of having the freedom of expression, they are experimenting, but above it will take time for them accept that you are high profile rich christian.
